Privacy policy

What Alongside can see, what it keeps, and your rights. Last updated: 10/07/2026

The short version

  • Your conversation stays put

It stays with your AI provider. We never see the whole thing.

  • We store nothing

We only receive what your AI sends to Alongside's tools, and we don't store it.

  • No accounts, no ads

There are no accounts and no advertising, and we never sell data.

Who we are

Alongside is run by Alongside Health Ltd. For anything about privacy, contact privacy@alongside.london.

How Alongside works, and who sees what

Alongside is a tool that AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini connect to. Your conversation happens with your AI provider (for example Anthropic, OpenAI or Google), not with us, and your provider stores and processes it under its own privacy policy. Anything Alongside sends back to your AI becomes part of that conversation.

What Alongside receives

Only the information your AI sends when it uses one of our tools. Depending on the tool, this can be a country code, a topic name, or your answers to a wellbeing questionnaire. Questionnaire answers are about your health, so we treat them with particular care.

What we do with it

We use it only to send back a response. We don't store tool inputs or results, we don't link them to you, and there are no user accounts.

Like any web service, our server writes a basic log line for each request, for security and reliability: the time, the address that was requested (for example /mcp) and whether it worked. It does not record what was sent to a tool, and it does not record your IP address, because the address it sees belongs to our hosting provider's network. Our hosting provider keeps these logs for up to 7 days.

The server is hosted by Fly.io in London (UK). Fly.io handles the network connection, so it can see the address that connects to our server. If you use Alongside through an AI service such as Claude, that connection is made from the AI provider's servers, so your own address is not shared with us or our host. If you connect from a command-line tool, it is made from your own device.

What we never do

We don't sell data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.

This website

www.alongside.london is a static website. It doesn't use cookies or analytics. Its fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads. The site also remembers your light or dark display choice in your browser's local storage. As with any website, our hosting provider processes your IP address to deliver pages and protect against abuse.

To the extent that we handle personal data, we rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR). Our interests are running and securing Alongside, answering the request your AI makes when it uses one of our tools, and delivering this website and protecting it against abuse. We keep what we handle to a minimum: there are no accounts, we don't store what your AI sends us, and our server logs record no content and no IP addresses. You can object to this at any time (see your rights below).

Nothing that reaches our server identifies you, and we store nothing, so we don't treat what your AI sends us, including questionnaire answers, as health information about an identifiable person. That is why we don't rely on a special-category condition. We still handle questionnaire answers with particular care.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict how it's used. Because we don't keep tool data or accounts, there's usually nothing to retrieve, but please contact us with any request. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Alongside is only available through AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini, so the minimum age to use it is whatever your AI provider requires, and never under 13.

Changes

If anything changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
